The Žutica forest is located in Ivanić-Grad and is one of the largest continental forests.
Žutica is also known as the second largest continental oil deposit in Croatia. The coexistence of man and nature is particularly pronounced in the forest.
The Žutica forest is an integral part of the floodplain of Lonjsko polje Nature Park, which is also a natural defense system against floods and thus protects cities from overflowing the banks of large rivers.
Žutica is also responsible for saving beavers from extinction. In 1996, several beavers were released into Žutica, and since then their population has recovered significantly.
