Located southwest of Ivanić-Grad, the Žutica forest is the second-largest Croatian continental forest, and also known as the second-largest continental oil deposit in Croatia.
The coexistence of man and nature is especially pronounced in it, but not only because of oil. The Žutica forest is an integral part of the floodplain of Lonjsko polje, which is also a natural defense system against floods, thus protecting cities from flooding.
There is an educational path about 2.5 km long hidden in the forest, and through 10 points with educational boards, you can find out interesting facts about the plant and animal species that are an integral part of it.
